Jose Fernando Jiménez Díaz (Toledo – Spain) Specialist in Sports Medicine, and obtained a MD. PhD. in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Córdoba with a work on the evaluation of the physiological response in military activities of simulated combat.
For 26 years, he has worked as a medical advisor in various groups and sports teams both in football (CD Toledo 1994-1997) and in professional cycling and 11 seasons in professional basketball (ACB League), as Head of Medical Services Of the Basketball Fuenlabrada.
Present
Author of more than 100 publications and articles in journals of scientific interest, he currently serves as a professor at the Faculty of Sport Sciences of the University of Castilla la Mancha, forming part of the research group “Deporsalud” oriented to the study of “Performance Sports and rehabilitation of injuries “. In addition, he collaborates as Professor in others such as the Universidad San Tomás de Manila (Philippines) or the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico.

Expert in the ultrasound diagnosis of musculoskeletal injuries, he has published several books on the clinical and sonographic study of sports injuries, the last one with the name of Musculosqueletal Ultrasound Advanced (Marbán 2017).

For years he has been a member of the Board of the Sports Medicine Spanish Society and director of School of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. He currently presides over the Ultrasound Spanish Society (SEECO) and is vice-president of the Board of FESUMB (Spanish Federation of Ultrasound Societies in Medicine and Biology).
Founder and director of the Course of Medicine and Traumatology of the Sport that is celebrated in Toledo from its first edition in the year 2000. At the moment he directs the International Chair of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound that recently has created the Catholic University of Murcia.
